Opening Reception – Rolling Hills and Gracious Fields: Columbia County Painters of the Hudson River School

Focusing on native, Columbia County born artists, this exhibition brings together 19th century works produced in the manner of the Hudson River School that was popular at the time.  Through scenes depicting the beauty of Columbia County, it explores the idea of “place” in the artistic collective consciousness as towns grew, the railroads expanded and landscape and identity became more closely intertwined.
